PATATA STARCH. The jelli Lab is an ongoing artistic practice for collective learning. By doing things together without a higher goal, we create a space in which our mindbodies make sense and are sensing.

Each time, there are three changing topics that are providing a frame work for the meeting. You can connect them to themes that you are busy with at the moment, be it personal, political, ethical, etc.
The name of the lab is a melange of the romanic ‚patata‘ (in Italian used as a curse word for vulva) and the English word ‚starch‘, suggesting self-appropriation and collaborative exploration.

Open to all species. Please let us know at what times you are free to take part and if you want to propose anything. It‘s always possibe to jump in spontaneously.

MOULD, TRANSGENERATIONS AND FORAGING

We looked at MOULDS as the origin of life as we know it, explored what TRANSGENERATIONAL relations can teach us and went FORAGING in the city to refresh our memories of how rich the vegetation around us is. This was our first online-lab. We continued to meet, find a summary

HERBAL MEDICINE, QUANTUM PHYSICS AND FERMENTATION

Herbal medicine implies the (re-)discovery of (suppressed) knowledge, quantum physics suggest an entangled understanding of the universe, fermentation is a process of transformation. These topics can be interpreted as metaphors as well as a concrete, material practice. On the first meeting, Thursday evening, we installed a schedule together depending on the interests of the people present. Everyone was welcome to propose an action. We started a reading circle with "On touching" by Karen Barad, explored Feldenkrais and joined an explorative drawing session after moving together.

STEAM BATHS, FORAGING AND WIGGLING
14. October 2018, 12-17pm, Schaltzentrale (Bullerdeich 14b, 20537 Hamburg)
In this workshop, we prepared for winter by wiggling our mindbodies in a jelli practise, we were looking for the last wild herbs of the year on a walk, we bathed in steam and used the left-overs in the steam bowls for oracles. Who wanted to, could stay for an alternative tea party on questions like how we can make herbal medicine a part of our daily lives and withdraw from pharma industry as much as possible.
